What else can a surf shop screen show?

Rentals and lesson times, new arrivals and the week's events, each as its own slide beside the sale. Keep each slide to a few words so it reads from the door. If you post a surf or weather report, say where it comes from and keep it current, since a stale report is worse than none.

Will salt air and sun hurt a TV near the beach?

They can shorten a TV's life. Keep the screen indoors, out of direct sun and away from an open door that lets in sea air and sand. A TV mounted outside needs a panel built for outdoor use, which an ordinary TV is not.

Can I switch between the sale and my regular board?

Yes. Keep both boards in your workspace and publish whichever one should be on the screen, from your phone. On a paid plan a channel can schedule the sale board for the weekend and bring the regular board back on Monday by itself.

What does it cost to run this?

One screen is free for good, with no card. Free screens show a ChannelOS banner, and about every 2 minutes it opens into a full ChannelOS slide; any paid plan removes both. Paid plans are per screen, from $5 a month billed annually or $6 monthly. You need a TV with a web browser and wifi, and nothing else.

What is surf shop digital signage?

Surf shop digital signage is a TV in a surf or beach store that shows the current sale, new boards and gear, rentals or lessons. This summer board runs a weekend sale in three slides: the headline discount, tiers for summer favorites and best sellers, and a last weekend slide for Sunday.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.
