What is a vertical pizzeria menu board?

A pizzeria menu board is the screen a customer reads while deciding, listing pizzas and prices. As a TV loop it carries the shop's name, the pizza list with prices, one combo offer, and opening hours, and a price change is typed rather than reprinted.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 9:16, so stand the TV on its end and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

Why stand a TV on its end for a pizzeria counter?
Because the wall usually decides. A pizzeria counter tends to sit against a pillar, a narrow strip beside a doorway or a window that is taller than it is wide, and a landscape panel there either overhangs or shrinks to fit. A portrait board reads as one column top to bottom, which suits a list. What it is not is a rotated landscape design: turning a wide layout on its side re-wraps every line, so the board is authored in the shape the screen is mounted in.
How do I mount a screen in portrait safely?
Three checks before drilling. The bracket has to allow rotation, which most VESA plates do but some fixed ones do not. The panel itself has to be rated for portrait: many consumer TVs are not, because heat rises differently through a rotated panel and the warranty often says so in a line people skip. And the cables have to leave the set without a tight bend at the new bottom edge. A commercial signage panel is usually rated for both orientations, which is one of the real things the premium buys.
What belongs on a pizza menu board?
The pizzas, by name, with prices, and nothing that needs a second reading. Four to six classics beat a full menu on screen: the long tail belongs on the paper menu people take to a table. Put the topping line under the name only where it changes the decision, like a chilli honey or a hot salami. If you run a combo, give it its own slide with one number on it, because a deal competing with a price list is read as neither.
Landscape or portrait for a pizzeria?
Landscape if the screen sits above a counter and you want two columns, portrait if it is on a pillar or in a window where the wall is narrower than it is tall. The shape decides the layout, not the other way around: a portrait board wraps a long pizza name onto two lines, so names get shorter, and a landscape board has room for a description column. Author it in the shape the TV is actually mounted in rather than rotating a design later.
